I started out with the LMA-3 with my Innovate wide band. It was good for starters. The I switched to Traqmate because I wanted the ability to track lap times and position by GPS. I have the old data logger module with it. I get 4 analog inputs and 2 digital inputs IIRC. Right now, most of that is taken up by the accusump controller because that's what I'm most interested in. For example:
On the stripchart: 1. MPH 2. Accusump valve (high is ON) 3. Oil Pressure at the filter outlet 4. Oil Pressure in the accusump 5. Air Pressure in the accusump (I think 4 and 5 should be swapped actually, AP should be a little higher than OP. I haven't sorted this out yet). So, this is limiting, right? I'm thinking about re-purposing a DAQ I started for 'fun' at work that recorded serial off two harbor freight IR temp gauges. It works pretty good. I plan on using these for the front brakes initially while working on some other 300 Degree stuff. I also have sensors for watching the amperage draw on the electric oil pumps, stroke sensors for the suspension or other things that move < 5in. I put ports before and after the passenger side intercooler for monitoring pressure and temperature (for what that's worth considering the sensor limitations). There's a handful of other things I'm interested in monitoring just for the sake of geekiness. I'm not going to get into the world of GPS and whatnot, because the traqmate does that well, and the software is pretty awesome. So I just make the data log at 40Hz to sync up to the Traqmate's output, use a synchronizing signal from the DAQ, dump the data to a SD card and excel can make a mess of it afterwards. Then there's Nistune to consider...
